Tammy Trujillo has been working in the entertainment industry
since the age of 2, taking time off to attend Long Beach Poly
High School. Professionally voice-trained as a child, when the
time came to decide what to do as a career, the phrase "I love
music and people say I have a good voice" came to mind. After
completing her undergraduate studies at Long Beach City College,
Tammy attended a private broadcasting school and landed her first
job while finishing her BA in Communications at Cal State Fullerton.
Her broadcasting has spanned may Southland stations including
KNX, KFI, KEZY, Power 106, The Beat and Channel Four News. Tammy
has worked as a morning co-host, sportscaster, news anchor and
traffic reporter. She has also performed on many commericals
and public service campaigns and holds numerous Gold Microphones,
one of the broadcasting industry's highest honors.
Currently, she is the evening news anchor at KFWB Los Angeles
and for many years, hosted KFWB's award-winning feature 'The
Pet Project', focusing on animal issues and information.
Animals and the promotion of responsible pet guardianship is
one passion, while music remains her other. Tammy also currently
performs on television and stage as a member of the Gold-Record
Winning 1960's pop group, The Ohio Express.
In addition, she runs The Classic Car Road Show, a company that
provides vintage cars to movies, television and videos.
Tammy is a full-time professor at Mt. SAC, heading up the Radio
Broadcasting Program. She is also on the Board of Directors for
APTRA-the Associated Press-Television Radio Association. Prior
to coming to Mt. SAC, she held faculty positions in the Broadcasting
programs at Cal State Northridge, Long Beach City and Orange
Coast College as well as with several private Broadcasting schools.
Tammy lives in the San Gabriel Valley with her husband Randy
and their family of wonderful rescued dogs and cats.

Dan Smith has been the Professor of Television at Mt. San Antonio
College since 1998. Prior to that he taught at the Orange County
High School of the Arts, for a total of 16 years of teaching
experience.
His career began with acting in school and community theaters
as well as Super-8mm filmmaking, which led to writing for thetheater
and then film school. This involved course work at CSU Fullerton,U.S.C.
(under instructor/ director Jay Roach), the Sony Institute and
most recently Moviola, as well as seminars with the American
Film Instituteand Industrial Light & Magic.
Turning a variety of interests into a living, he has done still
photography for various magazines and The Los Angeles Times;
written and sold feature film screenplays, acted as a cameraperson
on two other feature films, been Director of Photography for
commercials and music videos; held the position of Station Manager
for a cable station, edited a travel show, and performed a variety
of positions in corporate video.
He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences,
and through the ATAS has acted as a judge for the student Emmy
awards. He is also active in the Academic Senate and FacultyAssociation,
as well as having served for two years as the Director, Arts
Division. He is currently working on both a textbook and a historical
novel.

Raised in Southern California, Phil Hulett has been an announcer literally since his voice changed. It
During high school, Phil launched a closed circuit "radio station". During his four years at Cal State Long Beach, he was on the air at the college radio station and served as program director, doing his own show as well as producing, programming and managing the student staff.
Straight out of college, Phil took a job in the promotions department at KLOS FM, and then became a talk-show producer at KABC AM. It was then he began to do commercial voiceovers, a craft that keeps him in demand to this day. Phil is the voice for numerous commercials on radio and television across America as well as corporate presentations and many popular computer and console games.
Shortly after his start in commercial radio, Phil hosted host his own talk show on an Orange County AM radio station and emceed a sports special on ESPN. From there, he became a disc jockey and the image voice for KNAC FM. Phil also worked at KHTZ FM (now KLSX) and KBIG FM as a morning news announcer.
In 1994, Phil got his break in public address announcing as back-up announcer for major league baseball's Anaheim Angels, a designation he keeps to this day. He has also announced for the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey team, the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the IHL and since 1997, has been rinkside for the NHL's Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Today, Phil can be heard on 980 KFWB AM in Los Angeles as a news anchorman and he is the co-founder of rock music website KNAC.COM, where he and his partners have pioneered the art of webcasting.
Phil has also now gotten to live one of his biggest dreams....to announce at the Stanley Cup Finals!

CASON SMITH is a product of Mt. San Antonio College's broadcasting program. He began taking broadcast classes and working at the campus radio station (90.1 KSAK) in 1980. Within a year's time, he was working at a local commercial radio station. In 1982--before even graduating from
Mt. SAC--he was hired as a broadcast engineer for KABC and KLOS (the two highest rated L.A. stations at the time). Cason earned Associate Degrees from Mt. SAC in Radio and TV Broadcasting as well as Communications Electronics. In 1988, he graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Cason's on-air/production experience includes KABC, KLOS, KNX, KLAC, KMPC, KIEV, KWOW, KMNY, KCAL FM, KOLA and heritage rock station KGB in San Diego. He has been a broadcast engineer for the internationally known "Rockline" broadcast and "Elmer Dills Good Life Report" as well as doing voice-overs for various radio and TV projects (including the Mt. SAC Relays). Cason's television experience includes Fox Sports, CCIN, and the Prime Time Emmys telecast. He has been a guest lecturer or broadcast consultant at the Academy of Radio Broadcasting, Citrus College, San Bernardino Valley College and local high schools. Today, Cason manages Mt. SAC's radio station 90.1 KSAK, teaches broadcasting at the college, and does voice over work. He's also an on-air personality at 96.7 KCAL FM where he has been working continually since 1988.

PJ Butta is not new to Los Angeles radio. Originally from San
Diego, PJ moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of La
Verne. While attending college, PJ decided to start his radio
career early as a member of the street team at 92.3, then known
as The Beat. While working at The Beat, PJ landed his first
on-air gig at 104.7 KCAQ in Oxnard. His commute between both
stations didn't last long. In less then a year, PJ was offered
an on-air position at The Beat¦ a position he would hold for
the next 10 years!
Today, aside from doing weekends at Hot 92 Jamz, PJ is a member
of the Grammy Award winning production team and R&B/soul group,
The Avila Brothers. You can find him DJing local clubs and internationally
hosting the syndicated urban countdown show, The World Chart.
He also owns a Cold Stone Creamery in Puerto Rico!
PJ originally came to Mt. SAC as a guest lecturer and was quickly
hired as an Adjunct Professor.
But of all his many job titles, PJ Butta is most proud of being
husband to Radio Personality, Nautica De La Cruz, and daddy to
his baby girl, Brooklyn.

Jason Shiff knew my the time he was 12 that radio was his calling.
Jason earned his degree in Radio-TV-Film with an emphasis in
Media Management from Cal State Fullerton...but says his real
"schooling" came at K-RTH 101...where he started as in intern
in the Promotions department...and was fortunate enough to be
noticed by the station's program director.
Following his internship, he was hired by K-RTH as a producer
for such legends as the Real Don Steele and Robert W. Morgan.
Jason's career includes work as Music/Program Director for one
of the worldwide leaders in commercial music distribution...where
he became an expert on Selector programming software and worked
with some of the biggest companies in the world including McDonalds,
Disney, Foot Locker and Applebees.
Currently, Jason is working as a programmer for Spafax In-flight
Entertainment. If you've flown American Airlines, Northwest
Airlines, U.S Airways, Virgin America or dozens of other airlines
in the last year or so, you've likely heard his programming at
your seat.

Tyler Cook
|
Tyler Cook is a writer, filmmaker and photographer currently living in Los Angeles. Cook attended Butler University in Indianapolis, where he played football and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English Literature and American History. Tyler then received an M.F.A. in Cinema and Television Production from the University of Southern California, and has been engaged in filmmaking ever since. In the varied capacities of director, producer, and cinematographer, Cook has made several short films and features that have screened at the likes of Cannes, Hot Springs, the Golden Lion Film Festival, the San Francisco Documentary Festival, The Sundance Channel, and more.
